The Haute Maurienne Vanoise Tourist Office has teamed up with Thibaut Baronian, French short-distance trail champion and world top 5 in the discipline. The Haute Maurienne Vanoise destination and its resorts will be featured on the athlete's outfit, and will be regularly featured in his digital communications. Thibaut Baronian thus becomes an ambassador for an unspoilt, multi-sport destination with which he has had personal ties for some ten years.
The Haute Maurienne Vanoise Tourist Office and professional runner Thibaut Baronian have signed a partnership agreement. From June 2023, Thibaut Baronian will wear the colors of Haute Maurienne Vanoise, but above all he will communicate on the destination. Thibaut Baronian, reigning French champion in the short trail, came 4th in the recent World Trail Championships in Austria.
"Haute Maurienne Vanoise is an ideal playground for outdoor sports, but we still have an image deficit compared to other destinations," explains Jérémie Silva, director of the Tourist Office. "Thibaut Baronian is one of the world's top runners, with a huge following on social networks, and he's in tune with the DNA of Haute Maurienne Vanoise: wide open spaces, authenticity and ambition. He has a personal attachment to the area, which he visits regularly. So the link with him was a natural one. Joining forces with Thibaut gives us credibility and an image that's just right for Haute Maurienne Vanoise.
Thibaut Baronian will take part in the Trail EDF Cenis Tour in Val Cenis on August 5 and 6, 2023, and in the Marathon international de Bessans de ski de fond on January 13 and 14, 2024. A trail champion, Thibaut comes from a cross-country skiing background and remains a top-level athlete in this discipline.
Thibaut Baronian is Haute Maurienne Vanoise's1st trail and multisport ambassador. The Tourist Office also partners local sportsmen and women, including world champion ski mountaineer Thibault Anselmet.
