What's New and Highlights of Summer 2026
In the Spotlight
Aussois and La Norma – July 2–5, 2026
In 2026, Aussois and Avrieux will host thefirst edition of the “Forts en lumière” festival, a new cultural highlight for the region.
Centered around the forts of the Esseillon, this project is part of an initiative to promote cultural heritage and cross-border cooperation. It features an artistic program that combines visual arts, sound installations, artist residencies, and exhibitions.
EDF Val Cenis Trail
Val Cenis – August 1 and 2, 2026
Following a record-breaking edition in 2025, the EDF Val Cenis Trail has established itself more than ever as one of the major outdoor events of the summer in the Haute Maurienne Vanoise region. On August 1 and 2, several thousand participants are expected in the area for this event, which has become a must-attend.
Beyond the sporting event itself, the trail race serves as a powerful driver of visitor traffic and visibility for the destination, reinforcing its position as a leading outdoor destination.
eMotor Fest
La Norma – August 22 and 23, 2026
Following the success of the first edition, the eMotor Fest is returning to La Norma. This event underscores the region’s interest in new activities and innovative mobility solutions. It will once again showcase electric motorsports, featuring test drives, demonstrations, and activities for the general public.
International Tango Festival
Val Cenis – August 18–22, 2026
This summer, Val Cenis will host the20th edition of the International Tango Festival. A major cultural event in the region, it is deeply rooted in local history and identity, tied to the emigration of people from the Haut-Maurienne region to South America in the 19th century.
