The Chemin du Petit Bonheur, which has always linked Modane to Bonneval sur Arc, has been redeveloped by the Communauté de Communes Haute Maurienne Vanoise. New facilities include giant picnic tables, solariums, cabins for families to take a break and play, swings in the forest, sylvotherapy lounges... To discover on foot, by bike or on horseback.
The "chemin du petit bonheur" is a 50km itinerary along the valley floor for walking, running, cycling...
From village to village, from Modane to the hamlet of l'Ecot, the "chemin du petit bonheur" is an eponymous proposal: to experience moments of joy and delight, light moments... little pleasures!
After a two-year project, the Haute Maurienne Vanoise Community of Communes has just made it the backbone of its soft (and active) mobility. The route has not changed, but the path has been adorned with new colors, new equipment and atypical proposals.
First, let yourself be carried away by this color, this luminous yellow which, inscribed at the ends of footbridges, bridges and logs, tells you where you're coming from and where you're going. Then there are the astonishing custom-designed wooden installations: a forest of swings, giant banquet tables, solariums and a "wind revelator".
Other little pleasures may surprise you along the way: locally-cut raw alder sticks bearing the words "le chemin du petit bonheur" have been scattered all along the path. It's up to walkers to find them, walk with them for a while and put them down or... keep them for an authentic, natural souvenir.
Boxes of little pleasures" have also been hidden everywhere. These boxes allow you to discover the little pleasures of other walkers, and to leave your own.
To prepare or accompany your walk, a map entitled "le chemin du petit bonheur", entirely illustrated by Camille de Cussac, is on sale in the region's Tourist Offices.
