From November 2023 to April 2024, the Haute Maurienne Vanoise resorts will be hosting some twenty events. Freeride, dog sledding, accordion, cross-country skiing and biathlon, concerts, ice climbing, ski touring... Events in line with the strategic positioning of each resort, supporting their visitor numbers and reputation.
November 2023
- S.N.O.WNovember 4. Bessans, the Nordic capital of the Alps and the 1st resort to open in France (outside the glacier), kicks off the season on November 4 with a new edition of the S.N.O.W. (Ski Nordique Openning Winter.
- Samse National Tour cross-country skiingNovember 29 and 30 and Samse National Tour biathlon December 2 and 3. Like every year at the start of the season, Bessans will host two competitions bringing together hundreds of athletes as part of the French cross-country skiing and biathlon circuits.
December 2023
- Tous en PisteDecember 16 and 17. Val Cenis opens its season with a festive, sporting and convivial event that attracts some 5,000 people every year. Saturday: skiing, activities and food stalls on the slopes during the day, followed by a DJ Bens set in the evening.
January 2024
- Bessans International MarathonJanuary 13 and 14. Nearly 1,500 cross-country skiers are once again expected for the major Nordic event at the start of the year.
- Grande Odyssée VVFJanuary 19 to 21. The famous sled dog race will make 3 stops in Haute Maurienne Vanoise: departure and arrival in Aussois on January 19, departure from Bessans and arrival at the Mont Cenis polar base on January 20, departure and arrival in Val Cenis on January 21.
- Val Cenis-Termignon National Accordion FestivalJanuary 20 to 26. 22nd edition of this festive festival dedicated to the accordion, with some twenty artists and hundreds of festival-goers expected to attend concerts throughout the village.
February 2024
- Grand Parcours BessansBessans, February 2 to 4. Bessans and Bonneval sur Arc, labeled "Land of Mountaineering", welcome hundreds of ice climbers.
March 2024
- Vertical Music ExperienceMarch 8 and 9. In keeping with its festive, new-generation positioning, Valfréjus hosts the 2nd edition of this festival with concerts and DJs.
- Freeride World Tour Qualifier & Junior Bonneval sur Arc 3***March 16. Bonneval sur Arc is once again on the Freeride Qualifier calendar, featuring the best French and European freeriders. Once again this year, the event will end under the spotlight with a night-time off-piste descent in "Full Moon" mode.
- Freeride World Tour Qualifier Valfréjus 3***March 20. Valfréjus also hosts a stage of the Freeride Qualifier. This event is part of "Boarderline", a larger event taking place in the resort from March 19 to 21, with other sports and activities on the program (speedriding, concerts...).
- C'est l'Printemps FestivalMarch 21 to 24. Val Cenis hosts a new edition of the cultural festival with Laurent Gerra as artistic director.
- French Masters ChampionshipsMarch 30 and 31 (dates to be confirmed). Like last year, Bessans hosts the French cross-country skiing championships at the end of the season. But this year it's the masters who are on the program: competitions are reserved for athletes from 30 to over 90 years of age.
- La Traversée des Rois MagesMarch 31. Several hundred people will set off on ski touring between Valfréjus and Bardonecchia.
April 2014
- Nature et Ski, April 6 to 13. Val Cenis, which has been awarded the Flocon Vert label, is organizing a new edition of its ski and sustainable development event.
